# How Much CBD is in a drop of CBD Oil?

Curious how much CBD you’re actually getting when you add a few drops to your coffee or under your tongue? Read how to calculate it on New Mind Nutrition.

After putting in all the time and effort to find a reliable CBD oil product, you’d think the hard part is over. But depending on the brand you purchased, it may not be obvious how much CBD you’re actually getting in each drop.

Now, math is not my strong suit. So I promise to make this as quick and painless as possible.

## How to Calculate:

As a general rule of thumb, one drop of oil measures 0.05 ml.

So, let’s say you buy a 30 ml bottle of CBD oil that has a concentration of 1500 mg of CBD per 30 ml.

1. Figure out how many drops are in a bottle: if one drop is 0.05 ml, then a 30 ml bottle contains ~600 drops (30 ml / 0.05 ml/drop = 600 drops)
2. Figure out the concentration of CBD per drop: if there’s 1500 mg per 30 ml, then one 0.05 ml drop has 2.5 mg (1500 mg / 600 drops = 2.5 mg/drop)

## Quick tips:

• Read the label: you may get lucky and have an oil that makes it easy on you by having 1 mg of CBD per drop.
• Edibles are even easier, as they usually have 5 mg per serving. However, always double check the label to make sure what you bought isn’t the exception to that rule.
• Always make sure to read the lab reports to confirm how much CBD is actually in the batch of CBD oil that you bought
• When adding oil to energy bars or desserts, I recommend writing the concentration of CBD on tape and sticking it to the container. This way you don’t have to try to remember how much you put in.
